SCAM WARNING: It has been bought to the attention of the Consortium of Mobile Home Dealerships Spain that residential parks and the selling of re-sale mobile homes in Spain are being targeted online with harmful intent. For that reason, they have issued a scam warning.
The scam involves telling sellers and buyers that they must have a so called “official” valuation for a resale mobile home in Spain, before selling or buying. The scam quotes UK law to scare people into getting one. There is however NO requirement in either UK law or Spanish law for anyone to pay for a valuation. PLEASE do not pay for a worthless valuation.
They advise anyone who comes across this scam to simply check out the .gov.uk page below which will confirm it is a scam. You will see no mention of any valuation requirement under UK law.

The scam assessment is further reinforced by the fact that all UK manufactured resale mobile homes in Spain are registered exports with HMRC and are now subject to regulations in Spain and NOT the UK.
If you come across this scam they ask you to report the offending website or Facebook page where you saw the scam to http://www.scamwatch.uk/ using their contact page. The more people who report the scam the quicker the scammers can be stopped by the authorities and prosecuted if laws have been broken.

The consortium allows members to take joint action to protect all clients on a shared legal costs basis plus include a class action claim for damages.
